(picture taken 4.10.2009: cup of joe at breakfast with dave, mariel and matt)

my friend teddy just asked me this question. its absolutely worth repeating...

"if you could only choose one song to wake up to for the rest of your life, what would it be?"

i'm taking a pole. take your time. but email me when you think of YOURS...

gentle reminder

a friend of mine wrote this to me yesterday. it's a nice little reminder...

Sometimes you just have to play hookie from responsibilities...

side note: this picture was taken while i was proudly shirking responsibilities :)

Francoise & Ed

Memorial Day weekend Francoise and Ed were married at Keswick Hall. They're both chefs in New York, and as one would expect, they worked with Chef Craig Hartman at Keswick Hall to create an elaborate four course meal for their wedding dinner. You can watch their slideshow here...compliments of Lynne Brubaker and Easton Events!

and then there were three...

My mom always jokes about wanting to write a book, “How I lost 60 pounds in 6 minutes”. Its true, she did. My friend, Kelly, could be a co-author. She, too, is a proud mother of triplets. THREE. It’s nuts. I visited Kelly and her husband, Hunter, a few weeks ago, and was blown away with how amazing they are with their three new babies. Here is a picture that Jen Fariello recently took of them. Carter, Brody and Morgan. And as you can see from the picture, she dominates the boys!

lull

layers

below is part of a note i just received from an old friend of mine...
it is as beautiful a sentiment as it is true...

"Why is it the people who knew us before we knew ourselves seem like the people who know us best of all?  Maybe it's all those complicated layers that life forces us to grow.  I always think of my top layer as my current self, but that's not true at all.  It's all the layers together... and it turns out the top one isn't the most important."

live everything

Mares sent this quote to me last night. Its from an old card someone snail mailed to her awhile back. i love it. you might too...

"I beg you...to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don't search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer...."
